A starving dog collapsed on the street after being abandoned, looking so emaciated that it seemed like there was nothing more than skin stretched over bones. It was the most severe case we had ever encountered.

After rescuing the dog, I took it back to our team and began caring for it. Given the dog’s frail condition, I wasn’t even sure if it could survive.

The situation was very challenging.

The dog had been starved for so long that its body couldn’t handle food anymore. It was unable to eat or drink normally, remaining helpless and resting its head as if waiting for the end.

The poor creature wasn’t just physically sick; it was also suffering emotionally. The dog was depressed and terrified.

We took it to the vet for a check-up and medical treatment. The results confirmed what we feared: the dog was severely malnourished.

On the third day, there was a breakthrough. The dog started to rediscover its appetite and managed to eat a meal on its own.

There was a moment when it looked at me, and it almost felt like a silent “thank you.” We also made sure that it had a cozy, comfortable space to rest. Every day, we spent time with the dog, offering words of encouragement and comfort.

Slowly but surely, the dog began to show signs of recovery. Eventually, it regained a healthy weight and even became a joyful and affectionate companion.
