Rescued Labrador Scott Finds Hope and Healing Thanks to Compassionate Community Efforts
Stories of unity and compassion in the animal world remind us of our ability to bring about positive change. Thanks to the dedication of activists, organizations, and rescue groups, many animals have been given a second chance at life.
Advocates tirelessly work to seek justice for animals who have been mistreated by negligent people.
This is the story of Scott, an elderly Labrador who found freedom from a life of hardship due to the persistent efforts of compassionate community members.

For 14 years, Scott lived tethered to a home in Valle del Cauca, Colombia, enduring conditions no animal should suffer.
The Una Amiga Foundation, upon learning of Scott’s plight, stepped in to ensure he received the attention and care he deserved.
His situation had left him severely underweight, with his ribs visibly protruding, and he was visibly exhausted and hungry.

Scott’s rescue was shared on the Foundation’s Facebook page, highlighting the collaboration and community effort involved.
“Thanks to Juan Sebastián Vidal and all who took part in his rescue, this 14-year-old is now on his way to our headquarters, where we will do everything possible to surround him with love.”
Upon his arrival at the veterinary clinic, Scott was assessed and found to be suffering from severe malnutrition.

Dr. Claudia Paris at the Happy Pet Veterinary Clinic conducted a thorough examination and confirmed that Scott was severely underfed, anemic, and suffering from other health issues due to neglect.
The Foundation assured that he would remain under their care throughout his recovery process.
With dedicated care and attention, Scott is on the path to recovery. The Foundation expressed confidence in his resilience and looked forward to seeing him thrive and bring joy to a new home

They expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to his rescue and urged people to continue advocating for animals in need.
Owning a pet is a rewarding responsibility that requires love and care. By sharing Scott’s story, we can raise awareness and inspire more action to protect animals suffering from neglect and mistreatment.
Let us be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
