The puppy, emaciated and in severe pain, had advanced mange, leaving him nearly bald. Exposure to sunlight was unbearable due to his sensitive skin.

Weak and depleted, he nestled into the shadows of the trash heap, seemingly resigned to his fate until a group of compassionate volunteers intervened.

This touching rescue was captured on video, showcasing two volunteers from the Philippines who were determined to save the puppy from certain death.

They immediately took him to a vet where he received treatment for distemper and mange, and addressed his malnutrition with intravenous fluids and a high-calorie diet.

The Philippine Animal Rescue Team committed to ensuring the puppy’s comfort during his recovery, and they decided to give him a new name—Chief.
