Mandai first caught the attention of the organization through a sterilization program. While initially not in need of rescue, Mandai’s health issues soon warranted more intensive care.

A small bump on her nose grew, causing difficulty in eating and drinking, ultimately putting her life at risk.

Recognizing the seriousness of Mandai’s condition, Causes for Animals took her to the Animal World Veterinary Clinic for a thorough examination. Their hope was to determine the best course of action to help her.

In an appeal posted on their Facebook page, the organization reached out to the public for financial support, anticipating the costs of a potential surgery.

Sadly, a report shared on April 16 revealed some distressing news. It was discovered that Mandai’s tumor was aggressive and could not be removed.

“We learned from Mandai Mama’s CT scan that her tumor is inoperable and the cancer has spread. For now, she will require hospice care,” the organization stated.

Despite the prognosis, Mandai still needs support for her ongoing care, which remains costly.

She has shown some improvement since being taken off the streets, thanks to the dedicated care she receives at Gentle Paws, a sanctuary for elderly dogs.

Although Mandai’s future is uncertain, the resolve to fight for her life remains strong. Support from the community is crucial to continue her battle against cancer.
