Many animals endure harsh treatment, but for a dog in Mexico City, this reality was a daily struggle. This poor dog spent much of its time chained outside its home, even during adverse weather conditions.

In a poignant video, the dog was captured trying to shield itself from a severe hailstorm. Despite its desperate attempts to stay warm by curling up tightly, the dog’s owners seemed unaffected by its plight.

This distressing scene moved a concerned neighbor to action, prompting them to capture the moment and share the video on Twitter in hopes of spurring the authorities into action.

Thanks to the vigilant neighbor’s efforts, the situation quickly gained attention. Letty Varela, an official from the Animal Control Brigade, responded on Twitter, assuring the public that her team had taken swift action.

“Officers from Mexico City’s Secretariat of Citizen Security’s Animal Control Brigade acted promptly,” Varela announced.

“The dog has been rescued from its dire conditions and is currently receiving medical attention from our veterinary team. It’s time to end animal cruelty.”

In a subsequent post, Varela expressed her delight at the dog’s remarkable improvement while praising her team. “It’s heartwarming to see this dog now calm, loved, and happy.

Our team’s dedication has paved the way for a brighter future for him,” she shared.

The previously neglected dog has been given a second chance, with the promise of a happier life ahead.
