Two young puppies, who should have enjoyed the comfort of a loving home, found themselves struggling to survive on the streets. Their tiny tummies were noticeably swollen due to an accumulation of fluid, a condition worsened by malnutrition.

Their poor health was complicated by low levels of albumin, an important protein in the blood. Without enough of this protein, fluids gather in the abdomen, making the situation even more critical for the little pups.

Thankfully, the puppies were discovered just in time and taken to a veterinary clinic. Having had limited interactions with humans, they were naturally scared, unsure of what would happen next.

Seeking comfort in an uncertain situation, they clung to each other and gazed nervously at the walls.

The veterinarian was in for a surprise when he examined the pups. Not only were they suffering from malnutrition and the resultant anemia, but they were also covered in ticks.

To complicate matters further, they were infested with parasites, necessitating extensive care and multiple blood transfusions.

One crucial step in their recovery was removing the excess fluid from their swollen bellies. This procedure is complex and can be risky, as some dogs do not survive it.

The veterinarian and his team carefully prepared the pups on the exam table, administering anesthesia to ensure they did not feel pain or move excessively.

The procedure was repeated several times, eventually successfully draining the fluid. Throughout the process, a veterinary technician held their paws to calm them.

Remarkably, the puppies showed resilience. After the procedure, they were well enough to eat a regular meal. Though still a bit reserved, they showed signs of improvement.

Over the next few days, the pups received several blood transfusions, sparking noticeable happiness and energy in them. They soon began eating and playing like healthy puppies.

Although their bellies continued to show some swelling, another draining procedure was necessary. The puppies demonstrated incredible bravery and gradually learned to trust their human caretakers.

As their health improved, a local rescue organization stepped in to place them in a medical foster home together. Once they receive a clean bill of health from the vet, they will be put up for adoption, ready for new beginnings.
