When Beaker was discovered, he was timid and trying to find a place to hide behind a garage, according to Perkins, as reported by The Dodo.
“He cautiously peeked out as I called for him, and once I got closer, his tail began wagging with excitement. He leaned against us for attention and seemed visibly relieved,” Perkins shared.
Beaker was so thrilled that he made a muppet-like ‘meep,’ which inspired his name.
Initially, Beaker was understandably anxious, having been abandoned and chained. However, upon realizing that Perkins was there to help, he quickly relaxed and embraced his newfound friend with enthusiasm.

Perkins mentioned that once the chain binding Beaker was removed from the garage, Beaker immediately dropped to the ground, eager for belly rubs and playful affection.
Unfortunately, the chain was tightly stuck around Beaker’s neck, prompting Perkins to rush him to a veterinarian for assistance.
While waiting for Beaker’s surgery to remove the chain, Perkins used the time to shower the adorable dog with attention—a gesture that was deeply appreciated by Beaker.

“We spent over five hours bonding in the car while waiting for his surgery,” Perkins recounted. “Eventually, he began napping with his head resting on my lap.”
Despite the difficult situations Beaker has endured, his primary desire was to be loved, and his wish came true. Now in a foster home, Beaker is recovering from surgery and is one of the happiest dogs around.
For him, the past no longer matters. What truly counts is his present filled with new friends who ensure his happiness and well-being.

“He’s adapting to being an indoor dog thriving on unconditional love in his foster home,” Perkins explained.
Currently, Beaker is searching for his permanent home, ideally with another playful and energetic dog to guide him and be a constant buddy.
From the moment Beaker saw his rescuers, he knew he was safe, and now he eagerly anticipates finding the forever family he deserves.
