Heroic Vet Saves Trapped Dog and Her Seven Puppies from Landslide in Turkey
Earlier this week, a heartfelt rescue took place on a remote farm in Turkey, highlighting the dedication of a local veterinarian, Soner Büyümez. While working, he couldn’t ignore a frantic cry echoing from a distance. It was a desperate plea for help.
Following the sound, Büyümez quickly discovered the source: a landslide had occurred, and a dog was trapped with only its head visible above the soil. The situation was dire, not just for the dog, but for her hidden pups as well.
“The sight was distressing,” Büyümez shared with The Dodo. Recognizing the urgency, he immediately grabbed a shovel and began to dig.

As he worked to free the mother dog, he heard faint cries underneath. “I realized there were puppies buried alive,” Büyümez recalled.
With renewed determination, he continued to dig, eventually rescuing all seven puppies. Their relieved mother could finally rest, knowing her young were safe. Thanks to Büyümez’s quick intervention, the entire furry family survived the ordeal.

The mother dog, believed to be a stray, had faced survival challenges alone. Now, however, she and her puppies have found a caring guardian. “Their health is excellent,” Büyümez noted.
“They are safe, and I will treat them as my own.” This touching rescue story reminds us of the compassion and resolve that can change lives.
