Kindhearted Councillor Rescues Injured Dog Thor After Porcupine Attack in Brazil
In Sao Paulo, Brazil, a dog named Thor found himself in a harrowing situation after being attacked by a porcupine.
The unfortunate encounter left him with hundreds of quills embedded across his face, ears, legs, and nose, as seen in various photos shared by his owner.
Thor’s owner, Adriano Bertoline, is currently unemployed and found himself unable to cover the veterinary costs needed to treat his dog’s injuries.

Desperate for help, Adriano turned to the internet, launching a campaign to seek financial aid for Thor’s medical care.
A local benefactor stepped in to assist—Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari, a local councillor, came across Adriano’s plea online and decided to help.
Dr. Apolari transported Thor to a veterinary clinic and contributed towards the medical expenses required to treat the dog.

This incident marks the second time in a year that three-year-old Thor has had a run-in with a porcupine, resulting in severe injuries.
The previous encounter in February 2021 saw Thor receive help from a friend of Adriano’s who was working at a private veterinary clinic then.
In an appeal on social media, Adriano wrote, “Good morning, folks… I woke up this morning to find my dog in this condition… Is there a clinic or veterinarian that can help him? I’m afraid I can’t pay.

His post caught the attention of Dr. Apolari, who Adriano later described as “an angel” for stepping in when he couldn’t afford veterinary care privately.
“I’m now unemployed, and I have four children at home,” Adriano shared on Facebook, expressing his gratitude for the councillor’s timely intervention.
As for the porcupine involved in this latest encounter, its condition remains unknown.
